Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m a wife and mother as well as an animal rescue advocate, volunteer and foster. In July of 2018, I quit my full-time job of 20 years as an insurance agent to successfully pursue my lifelong dream of being a full-time actress.

How long have you been wearing wigs or hairpieces?

I started wearing wigs occasionally about three years ago for acting but I didn’t have any quality/very realistic alternative hair pieces. Over the last year, my thin hair had become thinner and started falling out. After seeing a doctor I was diagnosed with Androgenic Alopecia. I became obsessed with learning as much as possible about alternative hair and trying as many wigs as I could get my hands on. It was a lot of trial and error which also made me the proud owner of over 30 designer wigs in less than a year.

What advice would you give to a new wig wearer?

I would advise the new wig wearer to watch lots of YouTube Wig reviews and informational videos. I would spend hours watching every video I could find on the wig I was interested in. Also, The Jon Renau YouTube channel has a lot of fantastic information on alternative hair wear, care, and styling which I found very helpful when I started wearing wigs on more of a daily basis. I spent a lot of time and money trying different caps and tried all of the different price points but I found that if you have just one really nice quality wig that you love, it’ll be enough. At least temporarily because wearing alternative hair is addictive! You can be a blonde for breakfast, brunette for lunch and a redhead for dinner :) Your styles and colors are limitless!

What do I love about Jon Renau? Gosh, where do I begin??

In my opinion, Jon Renau has the best colors and color blends; I’ve tried a LOT of wigs by different manufacturers. Jon Renau colors and styles are so natural that nobody knows I’m wearing a wig unless I tell them (or if they know me because I change my wig 1-2 times a day and it’s never the same two days in a row lol).

I’ve even been cast in MANY acting roles in movies, commercials, and television because of my Jon Renau wigs! They look incredibly natural! Also, the SmartLace is unparalleled in comparison to other manufacturers. It’s virtually undetectable!! That’s super important to me because I like to wear my wigs off of my face. The quality of each wig I’ve purchased from Jon Renau has been impeccable.

Jon Renau also provides really valuable educational material to everyone. It doesn’t matter if you wear Jon Renau or other brands, they want to give everyone the tools and knowledge to make the right decision for them regarding their alternative hair and how to properly take care of it.
