Tell us a little about y
ourself

I'm a private tutor and childminder, I live with my husband Andrew and 2 children; Lilly and Callum. I love wigs!!

How long have you been wearing wigs or hairpieces?

I've had Alopecia Areata for 21 years - 11 years ago it progressed to totalis. I started wearing hair pieces 14 years ago. I first started with a small hair replacement system to cover a large patch but then within 2 years I needed a full wig which I used to get custom made in China. I used to glue this to my head - I would sleep in it and only take it off once a week to wash it. 2 years ago I found Alopecia Uk on Facebook I found it a great support and wealth of knowledge and I discovered branded wigs. Since then I have told everyone about my Alopecia - posting photos of myself bald on social media in an attempt to help to raise awareness of Alopecia.

What advice would you give to a new alternative hair wearer

I have over 25 different wigs now in very different styles - synthetic and human hair wigs; from light blonde to dark red; long to short and curly to poker straight! I would have to advise people that wear alternative hair to experiment with different styles and colours, as you have the freedom to change. Sometimes you think a colour won't suit you but then you try it and it looks fab and have a great new look!

What do you love about our brand?

I love Jon Renau wigs as they are just so natural looking - nobody knows I'm wearing a wig unless I tell them! The lace fronts are fantastic and the caps are so comfortable.
