Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Jenny, I am a 34yr old married mother of 3 kids living in Norman, Oklahoma. I'm also a dedicated career woman. I've always had thin hair, but I started really losing my hair when I was in my mid 20's. (Talk about a self-esteem killer!) I have androgenetic alopecia. Which is a fancy way of saying female pattern baldness. Who likes to tell people THAT, so I prefer to use medical terminology. Within the past 3 years it has become nearly impossible to disguise the balding area. And believe me I tried. I kept my hair short as to not weigh it down, I used black eye shadow on my scalp (and kept my hair color black) in order to hide my white scalp and give the illusion of thicker hair. I tried every hair thickening solution, shampoo, topical known to man. And nothing. Zip. Nada. I always knew I would have to resort to full wigs, but mentally I wasn't there yet. I'm still not fully there yet (emotionally or financially but mostly financially - HA). Then I hit the internet for research. I happened to stumble upon hair toppers. I was so skeptical, but oh so desperate.

How long have you been wearing wigs or hairpieces?

I've been wearing them for about 10 months now and it was the BEST decision I ever made! I have confidence again! I used to dread getting ready for work and would spend many mornings crying because my hair was awful.

What advice would you give to a new alternative hair wearer?

Some advice I would give a new alternative hair wearer would be - don't wait! Trust me, you will not regret it! Especially if you purchase a Jon Renau wig/hair piece! Order a hair topper -if you have enough hair- to get used to the idea of wearing something. If you don't have enough hair, girl, ROCK A WIG! Also, if you suffer from hair loss, TALK ABOUT it. Please. This is such a taboo topic for those of us with alopecia. I desperately want to make wig wearing a normal thing. For hair loss sufferers and others! Oh, and take your new hair to a hair stylist you trust and get it framed for your face! This is huge in making it look natural!

What do you love about our brand?

I purchased Top Notch by Jon Renau about a month ago and talk about a GAME CHANGER!! The hair fibers are so soft and realistic! There's volume without too much volume and it really covers aggressive hair loss. It’s very secure and that says a lot in our Oklahoma wind! This hair piece is my favorite so far, great product at a great price. Really makes me want to purchase one of Jon Renau's wigs...I'm still saving up for that, they are just a tad out of my budget at the moment but will be totally worth it when I get one.
